It’s finally here, Harper’s big girl room makeover and reveal! I’m so excited because I’ve been mentally decorating and diy-ing this room for at least the last 6 months. We had semi-decorated it when we switched her into a twin bed from her crib last December but it never really felt completed or very “her”. It was leaning towards the girly side with it’s pale grey walls, flowery blankets and vintage touches and if you know her at all she’s definitely a little on the wild side and not super girly. So I really wanted to do something that I knew she would love and create a space that she wanted to be in all the time. I think I really accomplished that with this room, from the minute that the paint dried and the rug was thrown down all she wants to do is go play in there! I’m so happy to show you guys how it turned out and to share where we found everything for it.
We ended up doing a DIY shiplap on the wall where her headboard goes (I used Liz Marie’s blog and Lauren McBride’s blog for inspiration), we painted the whole room Sherwin William’s Alabaster, we spray painted her original bed black so that it would pop against all the white (this might have been my favorite touch to the room!), her end table is an extra stool that we had from the kitchen island stools that I blogged about here, she got a new rug for a pop of color and then a bunch of new accessories to complete the look. This girl is soon in love with dinosaurs right now so I wanted to give her a more girly dino room. I absolutely love how it came out! Here’s a before and after and of course several pictures of the finished look. Everything I could link I did below the pictures. Thanks for checking it out.
