Do you ever blink and 3 weeks or more have gone by? That’s where I’ve been lately! I had my 36 week appointment a couple weeks ago and my OB told me to take it easy, that this little girl could come at any time. Cue the panic! I thought I had a month to go and all of a sudden I had so much to get done and get ready (like asap). haha So much for taking it easy! So the last 3 weeks have been insanely busy to say the least. Harper Grey turned 2 on the 8th so we threw a little family birthday party here at our house, then the next weekend my mama completely surprised me with a shower for this new little babe (thank goodness she didn’t come early and ruin all the hard work she put in!) and I’ve still been working but have had to cut down on my hours a bit since I’ve finally started getting more uncomfortable. I also got hit up the 1st Momma Made Market at Westworld two weekends ago and it was great! So many great little shops that I’ve seen on IG and finally got to meet and talk to in person. We’re going to have some fun giveaways coming up! And in between all these things I’ve been packing hospital and diaper bags, cleaning the house like a mad person and trying to get any last minute decorating and projects finished up.
I can’t believe that this last weekend was already Easter Sunday, this years a complete blur at this point! We had an egg hunt at Wyatt’s parents place, then my parents had a basket ready for Harper at their house, we checked out a dog show and then we worked a little in the babe’s room at the end of the day. I can’t believe how much more fun we had this year with Harper being a bit bigger. She started out slightly confused with the egg hunt but then she took to it so fast and was running everywhere. It’s a little scary doing egg hunts in AZ, springtime in the desert means rattlesnakes (the scariest thing ever) so eggs can’t be hidden too well haha.
Since this is baby #2 I know how crazy those first couple of weeks are with unpredictable sleep, not knowing what day it is, missed meals, etc. and I know that I won’t be wanting to worry about laundry or rooms not being put together. I’m so lucky though because Wyatt is taking off 3 weeks from work to be with the new babe, Harper and I. He’s a lifesaver and I’ll probably have a panic attack when he has to go back to work! Not even lying…
I’ve been having all sorts of feelings, those hormones are kickin in for sure! I’ve been so excited this whole pregnancy, semi nervous on Harper adjusting to not being the only child (and only grandchild, soooo spoiled) but otherwise excited. When I got the news that I’ll probably be early I had a moment of panic about getting things done and then I started to get scared. The whole labor and delivery process is kind of terrifying. I actually had a really good experience with Harper so it’s not like I have a bad experience looking back, but the unknown is scary and I know for a fact that I’ve pretty much forgotten the level of pain I was in pre-epidural. So I’m just sending up good thoughts and hoping for the best!
Here are some pictures of what’s been going on lately and a couple sneak peeks of the babe’s room and how Harper’s big room has been coming along. Wish me luck!
