2017, this is the year. The year I turn 30… what the fuuu#*%#! For real though, I don’t even feel like I’m going to be 30 so how is this happening? I’m not really too worried about the number but I do want to go into my 30’s feeling good, being healthy, active and the best mama and wife that I can be. High goals right?! So I’m tying them into my New Year’s Resolutions and gearing up to my big dirty 30 bday weekend! And it’s actually only 10 weeks away so the countdown is on… Ugh. So I’m laying out my goals so that I can be held a little more accountable. I’m putting them out here into the world because I think it’s easier to make them happen when you talk about them.
My #1 biggest goal is to lose the last of the baby weight that’s been hanging on, but to more importantly bring back all the muscle that I’ve lost since having Indy girl. Yesterday was actually my first day committing to being back in the gym and it felt so good having a solid plan on where I want to go. I’m planning on a combination of spin and weights and for those days where I just want to be outside, I’ll be hiking! So so happy that I have my ErgoBaby Adapt (I’ve talked about my love for it HERE). It’s so nice knowing that Indy’s secure on me, it’s seriously the comfiest carrier that I’ve used and I love that it adapts from baby to toddler with no inserts needed. Now that the weather is AH-mazing in the Arizona desert I can finally hike in the middle of the day without dying of heat stroke. I have a couple girlfriends with younger babies and we all love to meet up and hike different trails around the valley. Some of my favorites are: Pinnacle Peak, Overton Trail at Cave Creek Park, the Gateway Loop and Browns Ranch Trailhead all at McDowell Mountain Park. I also love heading up north to Prescott, Sedona and Flagstaff for some great cooler weather hikes with some awesome scenery.
My other big goal is to make sure that I make time for myself so that I can be the best mama and wife for my family. I can totally tell when I put myself on the back burner and put everyone else’s needs first because I get that total burnt out feeling. I hate feeling like that and it totally affects my mood! So even if it’s just gym or a girls night out with friends, I need to plan that on my schedule so that it actually happens. So important to me! I have a couple fun trips coming up and I can’t wait! Vacations and time away from reality are pretty much an instant refresh.
What are your biggest goals for the next year? Or do you not believe in New Year’s Resolutions? I’d love to hear your opinions on it! Also, do you get your refresh alone or like being in a group? I’m a total introvert which makes it so hard for me to refresh with not much time alone. Work in progress over here!
