So this little gem was a birthday present from my parents for Indy on her first birthday last month, how cute is it?! We knew it was pretty much for both girls though because there was no way that Harper wouldn’t love it too. Since we’re in Arizona and the summer sun is killer (literally and figuratively) we were at least going to have to stain the cedar but since I’m not a huge cedar wood fan I decided to paint instead when Behr outdoor paint and I’m thrilled with how it turned out! My dream house is a white with black shutters farm house so of course that’s where I went with this. I did all the hard work, at least I could decorate it the way I like it haha. Wyatt did help put it together though so it wasn’t alllll me. I went with a copy of Sherwin William’s Alabaster for the white and Behr Illumination for the blue/gray roof, the windows and black accents are all spray paint, the faucet is Rustoleom Metallic Nickel and I also painted both the sink and stove top. I didn’t love the cheap plastic handle for the door so Wyatt added on an actual barn gate latch from Home Depot that I love. Since our backyard is a dirt/gravel combo we put down pavers so it was easier on the girls feet and it just kept everything a little cleaner. Fake flowers, a welcome mat, a handmade sign and fun play food round out this little outdoor kitchen. The girls have seriously used it everyday and even in every stage of construction and painting. I’m pretty sure this was the perfect birthday gift that’s going to keep on giving.
P.S. Girls ONLY… except Daddy. Happy Friday friends!
